My People

I am a Jew.
I am a people.
I am connected to the six million.
My people faced terrors.
My people escaped.
My people survived.

I am agnostic.
I don't believe in religion.
I don't keep kosher.
I can't read Hebrew.

But I am still a Jew.
I am my ancestors.
I am all who faced Hilter's wrath
Or feared the Russian pogroms.

My people lived.

To say I'm not Jewish
is to say
