Mommy thinks I go to sleep every night. But I don't.
Each night she tucks me in really tight. First, she shakes the blanket over me with a woosh. Then she pulls the edges smooth. It's like a hug. She kisses my nose and Daddy does too. They switch of the light. I close my eyes until they are gone.
Is it quiet? Is it dark? Shhh...it's time to go. I pull my soft purple blanket around me and snuggle deeper and deeper until I'm sinking. My mattress becomes a marshmallow, and I fall right through. But don't worry. This is the way to get to Pillowland. Everything is fluffy here! I land on the quilted grass with a bump and a bounce. Blanket lands next to me. Blanket is so happy to be in Pillowland again that he nuzzles my face and hugs my legs.
We wave to Throw Rug and Toss Pillow and pretty Bedsheet with flowers. We greet Rags and Goosedown and Woven Knit and Fleece and all our other friends.
But something is not right in Pillowland. Our friends wrinkle and crinkle and hide behind the bed bushes.
