A Fan's Lament

 A note to all the actors,
I greatly admire you
You chased a dream I never had
the courage to pursue.

You fought a worthy battle
and came out right on top.
You're a professional pretender now
and I hope you never stop.

I wish that you and I were peers
I wish we could hang out.
I'd love to hear you tell me
what your career is all about.

If only I was a person whom
you might take an interest in,
but when you're just a fan,
you can't be heard above the din.

Things may have worked out differently
if we had met in class.
You'd know me as an individual
and not part of one big mass.

In my mind, I picture us
as partners in a scene.
In truth, I sit in my cluttered room
and watch you on my screen.
