Writing Magic exercise

This is an exercise from Gail Carson Levine's Writing Magic.  It says to choose a starter sentence and write for at least 20 minutes.

Ms. Fleming's wig had gone missing. In the wings of the theater, every stagehand and actor searched every nook and cranny in the shadows of the backstage lights.  Out front hummed the sound of an audience shuffling around getting ready to settle before the lights dimmed for that night's production of the great new musical, So Long, Serenity!  "We must find that wig!" exclaimed Phyllis the stage manager.  "The curtain goes up in ten minutes!"

Upstairs in her dressing room, Ms. Corniella Fleming sat admiring her reflection in the mirror.  She chuckled at herself.  With a wigcap covering her mound of corn colored hair and a pushpin sized microphone taped to her forehead and wired down the back of her head, she could only imagine the sight she must be to someone who saw her out of context! "Hmmm....maybe a bit more eyeshadow," she said.  She pinched the applicator and swept each eye with just a touch more brown.

A sharp rat-t-tat sounded on her door.  "Ms. Fleming, we have the whole cast and crew searching." came a male voice- the director, Mr. Sanders.  "Are you sure you put it back in it's place last night?"

"Well, gee, I sure thought I did..." Corniella replied, opening the door to the little room.

"Look, you are just going to have to borrow Anna's for tonight, " said Mr. Sanders.
